Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition Official Social Club Multiplayer Event on Xbox LIVE (January 26, 5-8 PM Eastern)

Update: The multiplayer event and sweepstakes have ended. Thanks to everyone that joined us, whether you were playing, watching, chatting or just stopping by to enter the sweepstakes.

We’ve got 20 prize packs to give away Thursday January 26th in the Grand Theft Auto IV: Complete Edition Social Club multiplayer event on Xbox LIVE, running from 5-8PM Eastern.

To enter the sweepstakes, head over to the multiplayer events page and scroll down to ‘Sweepstakes Entry’. Submit your details and you’re all set. Winners will be randomly selected and contacted the next day. Prize packs include a shirt, foam hand, pin set, license plate, Grand Theft Auto IV stickers and Rockstar stickers.

We’ll begin the event in Grand Theft Auto IV and later switch over to The Lost and Damned and The Ballad of Gay Tony, about an hour for each. Keep up with the modes we’re playing in the chat while watching the live video stream. You’ll be able to play with us no matter what version of the game or episodes you use. GwRockstar6 will be in original Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer for the entire event for those that don’t have the episodes.

HOW TO FIND US
Again, we’ll begin the event in original Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer. To join, start the in-game Party Mode using the cellphone. Make sure that your in-game Party Mode team size is at least two people. Once ready, head to the chat to find out the mode we’re beginning with, and type your Gamertag into the chat. Another way is just to send over a friend request to the Gamertags above. We’ll do our best to get you in for a few rounds. More info on using Party Mode is listed below.

Hit up the chatbox during the event or just post your Xbox LIVE Gamertag in the Comments section below.

ABOUT PARTY MODE
Grand Theft Auto IV’s in-game Party Mode is an easy way to get your group together and find matches. Here are the three quick and easy steps to get you up and running:

  1. Save your current game. To get started, fire up the in-game mobile phone by pressing "Up" on the D-pad.  Select Multiplayer > Party Mode > Yes.
  2. From here, open up your phone again and select the Friends option to invite your friends (you need at least one friend to play with Rockstar). 
  3. Once your team is ready to roll, open up the in-game phone again and select Ranked > Team Deathmatch for this event. Follow us in the chat to find out the modes we’re playing.

SPECTATE AND CHAT
Can’t jump in and play? As we stated above you can still follow the event at the multiplayer events page. We’ll have a live streaming video broadcast of the in-game matches plus a chat box so you can discuss the stream with others. Look below for specific directions you can follow to get online, grab a partner, and jump into the fray.

We will be giving instructions and updates in the chat box as the afternoon rolls on. Get ready…

Fan-Made Creations: Red Dead Redemption’s Blackwater in Minecraft

As fans of Minecraft, we dig its zen-like reappropriation of resources mechanic to create whatever the hell you want – it’s a cool and unusual game concept that draws some pretty hardcore fans.

Even cooler yet to see when those fans create homages to the games we make, like this awesome block-by-block recreation of the town of Blackwater, home to government agent Edgar Ross and the most modern city in Red Dead Redemption. This must have taken some serious work. Props to Minecraft builder technoanimate100 for his efforts, and check out his other creations including a recreation of Western outpost Armadillo.

Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition for Android Updated with Additional Device Support and More

The Android version of Grand Theft Auto III: 10 Year Anniversary Edition has been updated today to version 1.3, featuring new support for the Asus Transformer Prime and Medion LifeTab tablet devices plus a host of other updates, including:

  • The addition of Integrated with Immersion Haptic Vibration Feedback
  • The ability to tailor your visual experience with new video display settings
  • The ability to install the game to an SD memory card
  • Improved controls for Xperia Play and supported gamepads plus full support for the GameStop Wireless Game Controller
  • Additional technical fixes

To update your game just hit up the Android Market where you’ll be prompted to download the latest version. An update for the iOS version is also in the works, stay tuned as we’ll have more information on that soon.

Recap with Screens, Fan Video & Prize Winners from the Red Dead Redemption Official Social Club Multiplayer Event on PSN (January 13)

Thanks to everyone that joined us in kicking off the first Social Club Multiplayer Event of the New Year on January 13th, with a 3+ hour session of Red Dead Redemption multiplayer on PSN. Special congrats to Social Club member hoeky61881 for winning the event’s sweepstakes Grand Prize: two custom, hand-painted Red Dead PlayStation 3 controllers. Our custom controllers are not available for sale anywhere and the only way to try and nab a pair is through these event giveaways, so stay tuned for more.

The Final Four Faces Chosen in our #MaxPayne3 Multiplayer Gang Casting Event via Twitter

Presenting our final four multiplayer gang member faces; click here to see the first 4 which were revealed previously.

We’d like to thank EVERYONE out there who participated in the #MaxPayne3 casting event we’ve been holding on Twitter over the past month – the casting call turnout activity surpassed our expectations with #MaxPayne3 usage spiking to the top of the worldwide Trending Topics moments after the event was first announced in December. Suffice it to say, it’s been pretty difficult settling on only 8 people in total who will get to have their likeness as the face of a playable Max Payne 3 multiplayer gang character member.

In the end, the gang looks to be a pretty rad multiplayer hit squad of internationally-assembled killers – recruited from Germany, London, NYC, Los Angeles, Canada, Brazil, Australia and Japan. Certainly looking forward to seeing all of your grills online.

Without further ado, a bit more on the final four faces:

Shohei (first from left in picture above) aka @hakuchitare is a huge Rockstar fan who works as an acclaimed illustrator in his native Japan. His distinctive look, with hair shaved on the sides and slicked back on top, will look right in place amidst the gang’s rogues gallery and do well to represent Max Payne 3’s setting of Sao Paulo which has the largest Japanese community in the world outside of Japan.

Hamish (2nd from left) aka @silenthamish had been amongst the most prolific tweeters during the event and went super hard in the final weeks – a massive fan proudly from Melbourne, Australia who’s promised to portray an inherently tough road warrior online.

Jaclyn (3rd from left) aka @jaclynejimenez is a PC gamer from our own homebase of NYC. Her dream of getting her face in the game has come to pass, and looks like she’s ready to celebrate with some Social Club multiplayer event action later this spring as well.

Finally, Nick (4th from left above; and right) aka @TwisBeats works in the underground rap scene of London and is someone we spotted back in the 2nd week of the event and contacted for photos.

Nick was just about losing hope of being chosen, but c’mon – how could we say no to this guy?

Congratulations again, all. We’re in the midst of getting everyone’s final production reference photographs to get them all into the game now. Stay tuned to see what their final in-game characters look like, which is something we’ll be posting here at the Rockstar Newswire before the game comes out.

Mobile/Landline phone donation option added + User feedback

It has been requested quite a lot by users who want to donate to Syrnia but could not do so via any of the currently available donation options: We’ve finally added a mobile (and landline) phone donation option via DAOpay. You can donate to Syrnia by SMS or by calling a special number via your phone. You can see the details of thsis new donation option at the “How to support Syrnia” page in-game under “Donation options”. Other donation options remain more attractive due to the fee of phone donations.

This website can be used to leave feedback, request certain features, report bugfixes etc. Express your feelings about Syrnia, but keep it nice.

At the moment we plan to use this feedback site just this one time to estimate how everyone feels about Syrnia right now. We do not yet have any plans to keep using this feedback site in the future, so do not (yet) put too much effort in it. If this experiment turns out well, we might seriously look at keep using a feedback site, possible a different one then UserEcho though.
